Tropical

The weather has been cloudy, rainy and cool here in Florida so I am thinking more tropical then usual.  Here are a few paintings that take you to a warm sunny place.

Cooling off

With all the talk of snow and cold temperatures I thought it might be nice to look at something completely different.  I painted this a few years ago and always loved the universal stance that people take when they are standing in the water, somehow more relaxed, more natural.   Looking out at all that ocean and space makes you forget that even though you feel alone there are lots and lots of people all around you.

Inspiration

After our outing on Monday of this week I transfered my photos then started going through them looking for some I might like to paint.  As I was scrolling through I thought about how lucky we were to live in such a beautiful area.  The beach, the ocean, the wildlife, there is so much to see and enjoy.
I thought I might share a few photos from our glorious day at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.

I had not painted outside in two years, so this was quite a challenge. It was one of those paintings I had to improve upon in the studio. ...
