Inspired by travel: St. Maarten







There are so many good images that we see when we get out of our comfortable environment. We can see things from a different point of view. I like the fact that there is an "edge" to your awareness when you travel to a new place.

This was inspired by a recent trip to St. Maarten, which has not fully recovered from hurricane Irma over a year ago. (many expensive boats still sunk in the harbor.) However, it was still a delightful and beautiful place to see.

My painting reflects the beauty, and the "edge". Things are improving, but there is the threat with another hurricane in the future. (Let's hope all hurricanes just stay away!)
